Papers, 1829-1857.

Letters, notebooks, notes and manuscripts of parts of books, drafts of pamphlets, letters, poems, and essays. The notebooks include copies of 174 letters, made primarily from the papers of Leibniz in Hanover and of Sir William Colt and George Stepney in the British Museum; two biographical sketches; and extracts of regulations concerning money, coin, weights, measures, the assize of bread, etc., copied by Kemble's assistant from manuscripts in the British Museum. The notes refer to many subjects, including various aspects of Anglo-Saxon language and history.
